No kangaroos Fokkers in Austria.

Austrian Airlines have announced sale of their whole Fokker fleet, consisting of 15 Fokker 100 and 6 Fokker 70 aircraft, to the Australian carrier Alliance Air. The deal is valued at 15 million USD, out of which 9,5 million will be paid in cash, the remaining 5,5 million will be paid in stock. Austrian Airlines are thus becoming a shareholder at Alliance air, holding 12% of the carrier. Alliance air upon completion of this transaction will become the largest Fokker operator worldwide, having 46 aircraft of this type in fleet.

The aircraft will be phased out of the Austrian Airlines fleet progresively throughout 2016 and will be replaced by 17 Embraers 195, coming off the Lufthansa Regional fleet. All Fokkers will undergo maintenance at the Austrian Technics Bratislava facility and should also obtain the livery of their new operator at the  local AirLivery paintshop.
