Russian low-cost carrier Pobeda is reporting high demand for its recently launched flights from Moscow to Bratislava. The carrier has sold 5000 tickets on this route in the first 16 hours since sales have been launched. As reported, about 60% of those tickets were sold for the lowest avaiable price of 990 rubel, which is aproximately 15 euro. Tickets for this price sold out almost instantly, although the carrier is said to add some tickets at this price for slow selling flights.
Currently Pobeda has 192 flights on sale for the winter schedule, which means that on average the carrier already sold 26 tickets per flight. Demand was reportedly so high after sales launch, that the internet booking engine failed and was unreachable. Due to this some passengers reportedly bought tickets for prices below the lowest fare, some for less than 10 euro for a return ticket including taxes. The carrier is said to honor these tickets despite the very low fare paid.
