The Russian low cost carrier Pobeda is considering a new route from Moscow to Carlsbad, documents submitted for aprooval to Rosaviatsia reveal. According to the request, Pobeda has requested approval for up to 7 weelky flights to the famous spa city, which is very popular amongst Russians. Pobeda is currently expanding on international routes from Moscow, launching flights to Bratislava, Bergamo last year and soon to inaugurate services to Cologne.

Representatives of Russian touroperators remain sceptical about such plans. Demand for flights to Carlsbad has dropped recently, which forced Aeroflot to abandon the route, which is currently operated by Czech airlines twice weekly, whereby plenty of seats remain empty. Speculations arise, if Pobeda will offer Carlsbad as a secondary airport to Prague, offering bus transfer, simmilar to the one between Bratislava and Vienna or Cologne and Dusseldorf.

It also remains to be seen if Pobeda will use all frequencies as requested. For flights between Moscow and Bratislava the Russian carrier has approval for up to 10 weekly flights, however only has taken up 7 per week.
