Czech airlines have surprisingly announced their plans to restart flights to the Polish city of Radom. The anouncement is even more surprising after the carrier has cancelled flights to Radom only after operating the route for a month after its September 17th first flight, citing commercial and operational reasons. In a more detailed statement, CSA reported that the airport lacks de-icing equipment to warrant a hassle free operation during the winter months. Insiders however see low demand as the main reason for the cancellation of the flights. After CSA cancelled the flights, the only remaining carrier operating flights to Radom was Air Baltic with flights to Riga.
In a strange twist of events, Air Baltic cancelled the flights to Radom with last flight on November 18th and CSA announced on December 10th to resume flights to Radom on December 20th. Just as if the ultra-short advance booking period would not be enough to warrant empty planes, Czech airlines have decided to operate the route with an ill fated schedule.
Flights will start off operating just once weekly each sunday between December 20th and January 7th, twice weekly on fridays and sundays between January 8th and 31st, followed by 3 weekly flights from February 1st. However - the route is apparently beeing sold only until February 22nd, after which so far no flights are on sale. As if the above would not be enough, CSA decided to operate the flights via Ostrava on the routing Prague - Ostrava - Radom v.v.
